Initial Involvement and Scope

Power Professionals played a pivotal role in the successful delivery of the Yeu Noirmoutier Wind Farm. Our consultants were embedded within Prysmian for several years during the crucial planning and design phases, supporting technical decision-making and ensuring that cable engineering, logistics, and interface management were fully aligned with project objectives. This long-term involvement enabled us to provide continuity of expertise from early-stage design through to project execution.

Project Delivery and Management Role

During the construction and execution phase, Power Professionals supplied the full management team, both onshore and offshore, to support the T&T subcontractor, Reynard. This included:

• Onshore Management: Coordination of cable handling, preparation & termination and testing, ensuring interfaces between Reynard, Prysmian engineering teams, and EEM were seamless.
• Offshore Management: Leadership of installation and termination teams, oversight of marine spreads, and assurance of safe and efficient offshore cable testing activities.
• Contractor Interface: Acting as the key link between Prysmian, Reynard, and client stakeholders, mitigating risks and resolving issues in real time to maintain programme commitments.

This management presence ensured that Reynard’s delivery was executed to the required technical and safety standards, while also meeting the demanding schedule of such a large-scale offshore wind development.

Use of PowerDocs and Quality Assurance

A critical enabler of project success was the adoption of PowerDocs, Power Professionals’ in-house document management and control system. Its structured workflows, version control, and audit-ready standards significantly improved the quality and consistency of project documentation. The platform provided:

• Centralised storage and traceability of engineering and HSE records.
• Streamlined review and approval processes, reducing delays.
• Assurance that all documentation complied with both Prysmian’s and the client’s stringent quality standards.

The use of PowerDocs was consistently highlighted as having a positive impact on both project governance and operational efficiency.
